In 2012, Woodleigh will yet again be attending the ASWS. This is the highlight of our show calender and is an event every Show Member looks forward to. Below is the blurb which is present on the 2012 Plan and the important dates regarding the show. There is also a copy of the 2011 Master Timetable so that you can see what we do at the show last year. There is a lot of planning to do with this show, so if you wish to attend please ensure you have expressions of interests before the closing date. We have specified we may accept late forms however the show is very popular and spots will be filled quickly.

Australian Sheep and Wool Show (Bendigo) 19th to the 22nd of July, End of Term 2-3 Holidays
The Largest and Grandest Show we attend, the ASWS has thousands of sheep attend each year and the experience each year is remarkable. The Feature this year at Bendigo is the British/Heritage Breeds. There are 2 Days of Showing at Bendigo plus the schools interbreed, open interbreed, rotation workshops and about 4 student competitions. Selected Attendance, Max of 11 People, Regulars and above only Expressions of Interest Close 15th of March (Friday Week 6 Term 1), Late Submission will be accepted before 27th of April however acceptance will not be guaranteed. We realise this is many months in advance however for sheep to be prepared efficiently thus needs to be done early. Final Team Confirmation 4th of May (Friday Week 2 Term 2)Show Roster Finalized 8th of May (Tuesday Week 3 Term 2)Preparation will occur on several dates:

Preparation Day 1
Thursday 7th of July 9am to 12pm At the Ag Hort, compulsory prep day in which all general parring/crutching feed and trailer preparation is completed. Anita Mosele (Parent) supervising.
Preparation Day 2
Tuesday 12th of July 10:30am to 3pm (lunch provided) At the Ag Hort, compulsory prep day in which all indivual preparation of primary animal is completed (i.e. parting, face trimming, ears, parring/crutching, final weights etc.) As well as any last minute bucket collections etc. We need a parent to attend. Please bring $5 to contribute to a team lunch.

Thursday 14th of July, arrive at Woodleigh 7:30 latest to depart before 9 Morning Tea at Woodend Bakery (only one stop, may wish to pack Lunch) Arrive Prince of Wales Showgrounds in afternoon, unload and pen sheep, water, food, last minute preparation. Late Afternoon travel to Scout Camp and get settled in, dinner provided. Friday 15th of July, Wake up 6-6:30am –don’t worry Mr Cosby will wake you if you don’t have an alarm Breakfast provided in Scout Hall ensure you have eaten breakfast by 7:15, depart 7:30 for showgrounds. Friday Morning is spent doing a circuit of Sheep information sessions (9-12) includes morning tea and early lunch.

Whole Team photo taken before final departure from scout camp Junior Judging administration upon arrival at Showgrounds. Junior Judging runs until Lunch, Wool Judging also available for those who are interested. Opportunity to explore show may arise depending on schedule. Fencing Competition also available for those who are interested. Depart Prince of Wales Showgrounds at 4:30, need to provide money for dinner at a service station on the return journey. Arrive Woodleigh at 9:00, unload sheep, unpack etc.
